Top 3 Reasons to Attend the Atlanta Shoe Market Show

The Atlanta Shoe Market Show has grown significantly over the years.  With over 1200 members, 900 exhibitors, 1800 brands and record attendance numbers, it’s easy to see why we were recently named the 10th largest Shoe and Accessory Show in the world.

There are many reasons why exhibitors and buyers alike attend our show but the top 3 reasons are to:

Get Connected - Today, more than 1800 lines of footwear, as well as accessories and handbags, are represented, from salon to branded business, including women’s, men’s, athletic and children’s.

The Bottom Line - The Atlanta Shoe Market show has built a reputation for being the industry’s most productive event, a “working show” where buyers meet with sellers and place their orders for the coming season.
Convenient - The show is also noted for its ease and convenience – easy to get to and convenient to work with everything under one roof.

According to SESTA Executive Director Laura Conwell-O’Brien, “Our goal has been simply to make it as efficient as possible for retailers and manufacturers to conduct business.  That’s why buyers attend The Atlanta Shoe Market show bi-annually.

SESTA Partners With Non-Profits

At Southeastern Shoe Travelers Association, we promote the best interests and welfare of our members but we also promote the best interest of people, especially those in need in the United States and around the world.  Since we are an organization whose core is everything shoes, it makes sense to partner with shoe related non-profit organizations who strive to enrich the lives of people in need.

One of those organizations is the Soles4Souls Charity.  Their goal is to change the world – one pair at a time!  Soles4Souls is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you.

The charity distributes these shoes to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria.  Since 2005, Soles4Souls has delivered over 19 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes. The shoes have been distributed to people in over 125 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the United States.  Currently they are accepting donations to help people suffering from Hurricane Sandy.

Please go to http://www.soles4souls.org to find out how you can help!

We also partner with the Two Ten Footwear Foundation. Two Ten is a charitable foundation offering Financial Assistance, Counseling, Community Resources and Scholarships to those working in the footwear industry. There are no fees required, or membership needed to benefit from these services. Two Ten is committed to strengthening the footwear community with financial, social and educational support and services while nurturing community building and volunteerism.  In 2011, Two Ten fielded more than 2,000 calls and provided more than $1.24 million in financial assistance to shoe people in need.

Two Ten provides emergency financial assistance for individuals in the footwear industry. They also send financial help within 48 hours of the first call.  Two Ten also started a scholarship program in 1969.  Since its inception, Two Ten has made it possible for 6,000 students to go to college. They’ve given out over $17 million in scholarships in that time.  Two Ten Foundation is currently in need of donations and need your help.

To find out more about donating please go to http://www.twoten.org/

Helping others is the heart of what drives SESTA.  We were founded on the principles of promoting the best interests and welfare of our members but also individuals around the world.  Please take time to find out about these charitable organizations and find out how you can help.

Atlanta Shoe Show 2013 Preparations Underway

Preparations are underway for the February 23-25, 2013 Atlanta Shoe Market show.  This show will feature the new shoe styles for Fall 2013.

With more than 1,800 shoe lines and a reputation as “the buying show”, the Atlanta Shoe Market has become the largest and most important shoe and accessory show in America. In addition, we are the show where retailers purchase their inventories for the upcoming season which has led us to become one of the Top 4 largest shoe and accessory shows in the world!

Over the years, the show has built a reputation for being the industry’s most convenient and productive event.  SESTA Executive Director, Laura Conwell-O’Brien says “our goal has been simply to make it as efficient as possible for retailers and manufacturers to conduct business.”

The Atlanta Shoe Market is the logical choice for shoe retailers looking to narrow their travels to the most essential industry shows.  In addition, we are the best choice for sellers who sell to the shoe retailers; this is a must-exhibit for you and your company!

Retailers can pre-register for the February 2013 show on our website.  We will mail your badge to you prior to the show so you can avoid long lines at the registration desk.   Exhibitors can also submit their registration forms as soon as possible to insure you are included in rooming.  You can access all the show information and the registration form on our website at www.atlantashoemarket.com.

We also recommend you make your hotel reservations as early as possible.  Our website has an accommodations link to hotels in the area offering special shoe show rates.

We are anticipating another sold out show, so don’t be left out!  See you at the show!
